FIRED!

On July 10, 2014 I was fired from my position at KNUS after 13 interesting and rewarding years.
It's not easy being told to hit the road but it was made easier by all the people who posted on Facebook on my behalf.
I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to express their sentiments. It certainly was an unexpected boost to my emotions.
"THANK YOU" so much for that.
Also, Steve Kelley and Tom Moller made Facebook postings and you can see them towards the bottom of the page.
I've decided to show those Facebook postings here.

Bill Rogan shared a link.

For the first time ever, from any job, I've been fired. KNUS Radio let me go today to "go in a different direction."
In close to 30 years of broadcasting, I've never gotten wacked. But today was the day.
I'm not too upset. No reason to be. ...I had a nice 13 year run at KNUS. I loved doing our Sunday night sports show, Artificial Turf, for the past 11+ years with Andy Cornell, Casey Bloyer, Justin Adams, Ed "Hendu" Henderson, Kevin and Debra Jerome, Connor Shreve and Kevin Wheeler. I thank them and all the listeners.
I'd also like to thank KNUS General Manager Brian Taylor and KNUS Program Director Kelly Michaels for the opportunites afforded me the past 13 years. It was a good run. And I think they felt worse than me for letting me go. I will miss the friends I made at KNUS though. That's the hardest part.
Also, big thanks to Steve Kelley for putting up with me the past few years. I loved doing a show with Steve, a true gentleman and friend. He's had a lot of issues in his life the past year from getting rear ended by a truck and having neck surgery. His lovely wife K-Jo is having health issues too. So I ask that you keep Steve and his wife in your prayers as well as his children in the military, proudly serving our country.
I'd really like to thank, from the bottom of my heart, the people that listened to me over the years. I really appreciate it and am flattered that you would tune in to hear me, whether or not you agreed with me. Hopefully you will have the chance to listen to me again soon.
So, I'm a sports radio free agent now. If anyone knows of any openings or possibilities, feel free to message me. I'd also take the right opportunity out of radio.
Finally, please keep visiting my website for updates. Just go to www.turfsports.net. Also, my books are still for sale. Buy them...PLEASE!
Thanks everyone for your support.
Later,
BR

  • Ardis Dolezal Oh my goodness....I can't believe they did that. The rapport you and Steve had was great. I am glad you aren't upset but I think it is AWFUL!!!!!!!! I will keep you in my prayers Bill, God bless you.
  •

  • Jimmy Sengenberger Oh no, I can't believe it buddy!! I've loved every minute of working with you and am so sorry to hear this! I wish you all the best, my friend - and you were so gracious in your message.
  •

  • Chad Gronsten I always enjoyed you. Even though your a east coast guy, your common since no b.s. approach hit home with this Farmer.
  •

  • Bill Thornton You and LeBron, the top sports free agents. When one door closes another one opens!
  •

  • Joshua Sharf Bill, I'm sorry to hear that. You're a class act, and hopefully you'll be on the air again soon. It's a fickle business, and I'm happy to hear that you're able to look at your 13-year run as a success.
  •

  • Steve Garufi Bill: I just want to state that I think you're the greatest!
  •

  • Jules Dygert     :(
  •

  • Sara Sanchez You were THE reason I tuned in every day! I will miss you, please find another way to entertain and update. Sad
  •

  • Bill Rogan Holy moly. I'm flattered. Thank you so much for the kind words and support. Really, I thought one or two people might comment. I should have gotten fired long ago! And Thornton, thanks for making me laugh. I should take my talents to South Beach like Lebron did...but I love Colorado too much.
  •

  • Heidi Vander Velde More time to watch yankees games!
  •

  • Emily Cornell BR, that stinks! I know with your talent God has amazing things in mind for you. You're a class act! Prayers that something new comes your way soon
  •

  • Duane Menor I am shocked and sorry. They, like my former employer in October made a poor decision. KNUS lost a listener. I will listen to the Prager podcast through a different source. Bill, I feel awful for you. You are truly better than what they could replace you with. And I have all the faith in the world you will overcome this.
  •

  • Howard Herman Entertain? Update? The same Bill Rogan I know? Hey buddy. You're too good to be pounding the pavement for very long. Schultz? Well that's another story.
  •

  • Jeanette Sagers Gregersen I don't like this one bit.
  •

  • Laura Ryan-Krausa That is a shame for Denver. The only reason I even listened to KNUS was you. No reason to ever listen again. Sorry, Bill. Better things ahead, no doubt!
  •

  • Dan Englert Not good at all; their loss. Wow, what a great attitude and display of understanding. I will be listening to find out where you land, because land you will.
  •

  • Ron Unger Sorry to hear that Bill. I know you will land on your feet soon, and you'll always have your fans! Keep in touch!
  •

  • Daniel Meurer Bill Rogan "Class Act!" You will be missed!!
  •

  • David Brody Sorry to hear that Bill. The station has lost a talented guy.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield Hey Bill. I'm sorry to hear that happened. Have you ever considered starting your own podcast?

  •

  • Tony DeMarco Sorry to hear the news, my friend. But in time, you will come to appreciate whatever new direction you take. Trust me on that one.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Again, I am floored by all your comments. Bill Rogan and "class act" rarely mentioned in the same sentence! Sam, no, I haven't thought about podcasting yet. (Hey Tony, what's a podcast?)
  •

  • Paul Wick i think they have an opening in northern alaska .................just kiddin, you are awesome, youll have no probs finding something bigger and better
  •

  • Sam Whitfield A podcast is a lot like a radio show except its prerecorded. It's not regulated by the FCC so ANYONE can start one. This is what I do.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield I'm right in my description right Jimmy? ^
  •

  • Jeannie Menor That's not right, I loved listening to you! Good luck!!
  •

  • John McCartin Bill I never call in to raidio shows but you sir are a class act. Listened regularly loved the Sunday night show.
  •

  • Mary Weisbender Barros Bill, I am so bummed! I called the show the other day to see what your hourly rate was for Baseball 101. Lol. You & Steve were a great team. You will be missed ! Please let us know where you land, so we may again, experience the joy of your class act.
  •

  • George Commo Hang in there Bill ... time to get back to PBP ... that's the best part of this wacko business anyway!
  •

  • Andy Cornell While Bill Rogan is a class act, I will actually speak my mind...better not. I will miss The Turf and talking sports with Bill, Casey Bloyer and Justin Adams. Our show has been providing light hearted sports entertainment for 11 years. It was a great run. And while I'm sure reruns of Michael Medved will be stimulating, it just might not have the same Artificial Turf feeling. Wish we could have signed off on the air together. Oh well life moves on.
  •

  • Jimmy Sengenberger Disappointing that you don't have a final show together, Bill, Andy, et. al. You did good work there.
Sam Whitfield, you're right about podcasting and FCC, but podcasting is not even remotely comparable to radio. The dynamic is different and it is, quite honestly, boring. Online radio period is kinda boring by comparison.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield I do my show LIVE over the internet though so it's just like radio Jimmy.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks again to everyone for your kind words. Are you people trying to make me cry? You can keep up with me on my website. I'll be fine, really. Thanks Sam.
  •

  • Jimmy Sengenberger Been there, done that. It's different too.
  •

  • Jill Olds Please let us know where you land. You are hilarious and the reason I listened!!
  •

  • Kevin Jerome Bill; This is a SHOCK!!! You brought humor and sports intelligence to KNUS. This is more of a major loss for them, then it is for you as you improved the programming from their tied and boring political regurgitated talk..all my best to you my friend and it was a privilege to co-host the Artificial Turf show with you. Debra and I will be forever grateful.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield Bill Rogan is my favorite sports guy.
  •

  • Jimmy Sengenberger Bill Rogan is a man of many radio talents and knowledge areas. The most eclectic host on the air.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield Nicest guy too. I still remember meeting Bill and Steve Kelley in 2012. Two stand up gentlemen
  •

  • Troy Coverdale Geez man...Days like this make me hate this biz.
  •

  • Sam Whitfield I met you too at some point Jimmy but I can't remember where
  •

  • Bill Thorpe Wow...I am shocked...let me know if I can help in any way...
  •

  • Bill Rogan That's nice of you Bill. Just keep being a friend. And long live "Heeeeere comes Rusty...!!!" (Inside greyhound racing joke folks)
  •

  • Bill Rogan Me too Troy!
  •

  • Jeff Jarboe Sorry Bill.
  •

  • Matthew Server Koa should get on this... after they fired Krieger, they need a new sports talk. Or go to tv. I loved listening to you every morning on the way to school. Thanks for all the laughs Mr. Rogan!
  •

  • Renee Obechina Rice Babe, I am completely blown away! There are very few words that can be said. So
here I go.You are a Man of his word, honesty, integrity,
and above all a CLASS ACT!
  •

  • Johnathan Aguero Sad. But good memories!
  •

  • Anne Cornell Wish there were an UNLIKE button-- I agree with Kevin Jerome . Much more of a loss for the station than a talent like you. On to bigger, greener turf. Love ya, BR!
  •

  • Lanai Anderson Flores Nooooo! I'll be sure to follow you! You'll be missed my friend!
  •

  • Casey Bloyer I am thankful and grateful for all you have done for me! I will miss you everyday my friend and brother!
  •

  • Russell Wilson You are a class act. True character is revealed in tough times...
  •

  • Bob Diddlebock Their (big) loss. You did a great job at KNUS, and I know, as a listener, that I'll miss your work. Hang tough; when one door closes, another opens. That said, how about breakfast soon?
  •

  • Clinton Stanton No, I love listening to you and Steve. I can't believe that. I hope the best for you in whatever comes your way.
  •

  • Tom Moller Wow, Bill. What a surprise! Kelly called me over to tell me privately just before the dinner we had for Peter Boyles, knowing that you and I are friends.I'm shocked.I'll call you.I have treasured our friendship thru the years. Your post definitely shows you to be the class guy I've always regarded you as.I don't know what to say. We'll talk.
  •

  • Denver Browns Classy post.
  •

  • David Itch Man Bill, I am proud of you and have known you a long time and know you shall land a gig, as you are like a cat and always land on your feet! I feel honored to to have been a part of some of your shows and cherish our friendship! Love ya and will tune in wherever you land!! Even better "The Bill & Itch(y) Show" has a nice ring! ; o )
  •

  • Debra Jerome Andy, I normally don't do this, but I feel like I have to speak my mind this time. Bill you are very kind and gracious in your comment and I admire that, but I cannot be as kind to your former employer. I think this whole thing stinks and you deserved better. You did everything they wanted you to, went above and beyond, and this is the thanks you get. They will find out what all these changes will do to their ratings and when you play with fire you will get burned eventually. But I do know this, God is in control and I believe He has something so much better waiting for you because you deserve so much better. Thank you for allowing Kevin and myself to be a part of The Turf family and most of all for your friendship. You are a class act and I wish you all the best.
  •

  • Scott Gaerte Steve was in my coffee shop just after it opened, a few years ago, and I had no idea who he was. Since we had just opened, there was no one else in the store, so he chatted me up. I told him I had been listening to talk radio for 20 years and since moving to colorado 8 years prior exclusively KNUS. He had just started the morning show at the time and before he introduced himself he asked me what I thought of "Bill the Sports guy" in the morning. I told him you were one of my favorite personalities on the station. Your bluntness and humor were refreshing and while you show great humility in this post I can't help but think that KNUS lacks the foresight to realize there is a generation hungry for a refreshing personality like you Bill. There are shades of Adam Corolla without the crass he brings. I hope you land somewhere and without sounding trite or cliche I hope this means bigger and better. Best wishes and let us know where you find yourself in radio. Yours is a voice needed in the conservative talk world. Lastly, your failure to cover cycling disappointed me however that is a discussion for another forum. Thanks for making local KNUS so wonderful. I for one will miss you.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Casey, it's not like I'm dead. Jeez. Just keep up the good work.
  •

  • Beth Bonczek-Stoffel What the heck? I came to know you through them - and now have another true Irish fan as a friend. But man, I'm bummed. Thanks for being you !
  •

  • John Ransom Chance for you to get back to doing what you love Bill Rogan! You're a darned great sports guy even with that blown home run call!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Beth, I hope I find something soon so I can talk ND football to the masses. GO IRISH!
  •

  • Andy Cornell Thanks Debra Jerome. You and Kevin Jerome have been great friends to us and the show. I agree that much better things await The Turf!
  •

  • Victor Sieff Bill sorry to hear that, but you are a talented guy I am sure you will get picked up.I need to talk to you sometime soon,we are going to do a couple of football games and a couple of basketball games for Broomfield.Good luck.
  •

  • Connor Shreve Assuming this is the Bill Rogan I thought it was and I haven't been re-directed to the page of a classy, funny, loved Bill Rogan, it sounds like ESPN radio is desperately searching for a programming switch up. Also, has anyone mentioned podcasting in this thread? It's better than radio and with a personality like yours, would go bonkers...if you can sell it, your set.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Debra, Tom, Clinton, Renee, Anne, Beth, Victor, John and Scott, I am truly blown away by yours and everyone elses comments. Itch, if you and I had a radio show, it would be like nothing anyone has ever heard before. It would be wild.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Also, I can't wait for my funeral. If you all say these nice things for just getting fired, I can't imagine the great stuff you'll say at my funeral! It will be awesome!
  •

  • Des Gannon What class. Good luck.
Keep us posted of your next adventure please.
  •

  • Bill Rogan I will keep everyone posted to what is going on. I am flattered so many people care. But I will say this. Today there were people who were told they have some disease and have 6 months to live. There were parents who lost a child somewhere. Some people got a call that a loved one wasn't coming home today. Some people had a loved one break their heart. Somebody today was in a terrible accident and suffered debilitating injury. Me? I lost a job? Bummer? Yeah. But I am so blessed compared to people who are really hurting. The worst thnig to happen to me today? Toss up between losing my job and the Yankees losing.
  •

  • Connie M. Brown Ohhhhhhh! You can come hang out with me at the shop! I talk more there than I did on the air! Call me, Bro!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Will do Murph!
  •

  • Steven M. Ehnstrom Bill Rogan, please do wait for your funeral because the air would really be dead then. I've enjoyed every show you've been on, early, later and late. Good man, down to earth, uncommonly blunt but with the common mans common sense. I look forward to your next endeavor.
  •

  • Matthew Repplinger One big door is about to open Rogan - you are pure class and a truly funny person. Looking forward to our next opportunity to hang out.
  •

  • Bill Rogan I hear ya Matt. See you at the ballpark my friend.
  •

  • Kevin Paul Condon I thought you were the freshest, most unpredictable, wittiest thing on Denver radio. I miss Murphy, too. You will land on your feet, Bill. May God bless you and your future.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks KPC. I appreciate that. I know Murphy misses me. She always had the hots for me! (when she reads this she will gag!)
  •

  • Frank LoBuono Billy - join the club. It's a fact of life in this business. I'd like to say it only happened to me once!!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Good night everyone. Thanks so much for the major pick me up. I'm touched...and, I'll be back soon. Hugs to all the ladies...and, uh, fist bumps to all the guys.
  •

  • Frank LoBuono You betcha'!!
  •

  • Connie M. Brown Thank you, Kevin Paul Condon. Bill became one of my closest friends - and I still consider him a great friend. I know I can call him anytime for anything. He's who I miss the most from my radio daze at KNUS. We had a great time every morning - he's like a brother - bugged the crap out of me on purpose - made me butter his bagel - laughed at my sarcasm and we shared the love of the Beatles. If I had more time in the day, I'd love to do a show with just Bill. That's as sappy as I'm gonna get before he starts crying. He'll land on his feet - I hope here, though! Love ya, BR!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks Frank. You hired me and never fired me! Good night again y'all.
  •

  • Frank LoBuono Because you "were cooler than the other side of the pillow"! And tell the WORLD YOU invented that line!!!!!!!!!
  •

  • Kevin Watson Sorry to hear this Bill. I am sure that there are better things ahead. You can come and coach gymnastics with me!! Oh yea...going to your site now!
  •

  • Bill Nelson Sorry to hear that bill. Hang in there.
  •

  • Jordan James McKay wow, sorry to hear that Bill... Join the ranks!
  •

  • Debbie Ballard Oh man. Sorry to hear that. I liked the team up w/you and Steve Kelly. You seemed to bounce things off one another sometimes the same+sometimes different ideas. That's what was interesting. I don't really understand at times, what people really like to listen to and the management thinks. I wish you well. you will be ok because you have such a way to report and talent. Hope you still stay in the Denver area so we can still hear you. If not.........go where we were thinking of moving too, if we can find decent jobs. Panama City Fla. : ) Your in my prayers. Stay in touch thru FB.
  •

  • Sara Sanchez I want to hit a "don't like" button... what am I going to do from 1pm to 4pm? Seriously?! Best of luck to Bill~
  •

  • Gregg Sgarlata I hear ya my friend, same happened to me after 26 years. I wish you the BEST!
  •

  • Barbara Gantter Simeone I'm so sorry to hear that. Something even better is waiting for you, maybe in NC.
  •

  • Ty Lufman You're still the best, Bill! Good luck - I'm pulling for you! (and will see you on Sundays)
  •

  • Sharilyn Kal The Rockies need you!.....but seriously which flipping direction do they want to go? I will not listen 1-4....I'm pissed.
  •

  • Freddie Coleman Sorry to hear that my friend. Wish you the best and a door will open up for you my man.
  •

  • David W Dirling Well, between the book royalties and the "golden parachute" severance I am sure KNUS gave you, now you can sail the world in your new yacht!
  •

  • Nia Bender Love ya' Bill.
  •

  • Kent Calhoun That totally sucks. Their loss.
  •

  • David Kelley Boo. KNUS is now on my poop list.
  •

  • Brian Blaise I too am on KING KELLEY's "poop list" - (long story, but a GREAT soundtrack...) and let me tell you, you DON'T want to be on KING KELLEY's "poop list".
All my best to you BILL. I'll miss hearing you on the radio...
  •

  • Dan Clemens Sorry to hear the news Bill.
  •

  • William Jones A "different direction" where have I heard that before?
  •

  • Pete Krausa No matter where you end up Bill, I will always follow.
  •

  • Gary Mess That stinks Bill! No more KNUS for me.
  •

  • Andy Philemon Sorry to hear that Bill!
  •

  • Jan Sumner What? Are they kidding, the new direction must be downward!!
  •

  • Mark Barrington I think I know why they did it to bring Craig Silverman on. Not good for knus.
  •

  • Jodi Stanard Best of luck to you Bill.
  •

  • Marcus Fisher Well that sucks!! Bill we know you will be very successful in what you do next. The rockies need some help on the field.
  •

  • David B. Liggett good luck Bill - hope you land the right job quickly
  •

  • Matt Arnold EXTREMELY questionable decision-making by KNUS.
Always enjoyed your shows - both political and sports commentary.
That station has become progressively (pun intended) less "listenable."
  •

  • William Rankine I am so disappointed at KNUS. You were the best part of Kelly and Company you made me laugh every day. I will miss you Bill.
  •

  • Bill Nelson So Bill. What am I going to do on sunday nights? I guess I'm going to have to go back to dating models on sunday night.
  •

  • Brian Nash Good luck in whatever you do next cuz. You should come over here and commentate on soccer, you couldn't do any worse than some of the dead heads we have broadcasting.
  •

  • Rick Schultz Radio can be such a lousy business for solid, talented professionals
  •

  • Howard Herman Yeah Rick, but how does Rogan fit into that?
  •

  • Rick Schultz Oooh, kick a guy when he's down!
He can take it. He's from NY.
  •

  • Howard Herman Hope you guys are all well.
  •

  • Marc Ernay i was reading all the testimonials & thinking "they can't possibly be talking about the same bill rogan i know!" how much are you paying these people, pal? :~D
  •

  • Steve Gliner Let's just all go back to 1994 and be back at Dutchess Stadium! Bill Rogan Rick Schultz
  •

  • Marc Ernay funny, Steve .. I was just there the other night (and mentioned you, Bill, and Rick to some of the current staff)
  •

  • Bill Rogan Steve, that was my favorite job ever, broadcasting minor league baseball for the Renegades. The summer of 94 was so much fun....especially when the Dynamite Lady was at the ballpark. She blew herself up after the game and I asked you, "What's the point?" And you said, with a huge smile on your face...."The point is there is no point!" Great times. Hope you are well my friend. Also, Ernay and Herman....you guys are killing me!
  •

  • Mary Dowd Hi there everyone, this is Bill's sister. I'm so glad he has such good friends and loyal fans. However, I think it's time for him to come back to New York. Perhaps they're smoking to much weed over at KNUS to realize what a stupid business decision they've made. I hope their "new direction" leads straight hell. I'll have to sign off now, as I am not half as nice as my brother!
  •

  • Vincent McGurgan Bill, hang in there. It happens to the best of us....even Notre Dame fans!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Yikes Mary. By the way, that would be "their" new direction.
  •

  • Deanna Layton Damron Go Mary!! It's good to have a great brother around... My one and only is not so great. I just hope that where ever Bill goes he will be appreciated for the good person that he is! ( I only know him through KNUS, but I consider him a good friend anyway!) Best of luck to you Bill!
  •

  • Kelly Perkins Terry Hi Bill! Sorry to hear your news. Alan and I are sending you best wishes on this new chapter and we know you'll be successful wherever you land!
  •

  • Arthur Carlson Bill I started listening to you when Kelly & Co was on in the morning and then the move to afternoon. The radio biz is crazy. My friend Greg Stone got fired from KBPI, Floorwax is no longer at KRFX, Steve Mudflap McGrew got fired from KYGO and the Wolf. Greg is at another station, Steve is back doing standup comedy. Suzie Wargin went from a DJ at KBPI to sportscaster at KUSA. I'm confident that you'll find another gig soon. Your a Class A kind of guy Bill. Keep your chin up and move forward my friend.
  •

  • Joshua Sharf Bill: Normally, I'd be on your side, but "they're" and "their" sound the same on the radio.
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks Deanna, Vince, Art and Kelly. And yes Joshua, they're and their sound the same on the radio. But if you haven't noticed, I'm not on the radio anymore! (hopefully again soon. I already miss it.)
  •

  • Theresa Martens I'm pissed! Love ya Bill!
  •

  •

  • Mary Dowd Billy, I was being nice! I left many of the things I was thinking unsaid. I wish you nothing but the best, you know that! Anybody who treats my bro like s**t will have to deal with his little sister! Love you!
  •

  • Kim Ponis Greason My mentor said You haven't really worked in the media biz unless you've been let go from a job... so welcome to the club
  •

  • Kim Ponis Greason Oh and usually something more amazing awaits... so I am sure you will land on your feet!
  •

  • Bob Socci Bill, I'm very sorry, though I fully trust you'll soon find another job that better suits your talent, knowledge and enthusiasm. All the best!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks Bob, appreciate it. Have a great season with the Patriots.
  •

  • Jim Roser Wow Bill I'm shocked at the news! But you are a true professional, and as someone who sat next to you at the mic for an all-too-brief time, I can say with all honesty that I'll never forget the laughs we had....I've never sung the song from "Hee Haw" with another man.

Although I have employed that song with the ladies to rousing success!!

In all seriousness, I wish you the best and I know you'll be dealing the best sports radio around again soon.
  •

  • Sean Clark Since you're sports guy have you hit up any of the sports stations around town (1043 the fan, 1023 ESPN and mile high sports radio)? I think you would do good talking sports! I am sure you know Lou from Littleton he runs 1023.
  •

  • Bill Nelson Bill Rogan is the GREATEST sports announcer in history! cosell, summerall, gowdy , they all pale in comparison to Bill Rogan . In fact , let me say that Bill Rogan is the greatest broadcaster in colorado history! Now , where's the $100 bucks you said you pay me to say those things, pal. Bill thank you for mentioning me on the turf web page ,that is touching.
  •

  • PA Ritzer Bill, classy goodbye. Wish you all the best. Thanks for having me on the show, both in studio and by phone.

  • Alex Bridgeforth Bill, you are one of the few "classy" guys on the air. I enjoyed listening to you and appreciated the knowledge you & your wife gave me at OCB/Colorado Media School. I hope one of our stations sign you to a long term Max contract! We need you back on the air!!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thanks Alex. I hope for a max contract too!

  •

  • William Rankine Podcasting is huge right now Bill. Ever think of starting your own podcast.
  •

  • Matt McGurgan Sorry Uncle Bill
  •

  • Chris Hart What?! Unbelievable! Someone will snatch you up!
  •

  • Brad Smith Good luck Bill, wish you all the best.
  •

  • Bill Rogan I have thought about podcasting William. I do have some things in the works. I'll keep everyone posted. Also, thanks Pauline, Todd, Matt, Chris and Brad. Your words are appreciated.
  •

  • Josh Wiest So sad to hear this. Your personality was the main reason I listened to Kelley and company. Hope to hear you again soon.
  •

  • Pauline Remillard Not many people these days will tell it like it really is....but you do...wishing you the best of luck...
  •

  • Pamela Scholes Bill everyone is talking about pod casting. Did you know that Scott Sigler's wife kept hinting at him that he should do something with all the recording equipment since he was a good story teller. Scott Sigler's podcast out number his book sales. He has a huge following. Just something to thank about. Good luck and God bless.
  •

  • Ken Dalle Molle Your wit and personality was the primary reason I listened to KNUS in the afternoon. Another station will be lucky to get you...and I'll be happy to switch my radio dial over.
  •

  • Pauline Remillard Yeah i quit listening, not the same

My friend and co-host Bill Rogan will no longer be on the show... What a year....a blur really. Bill, you are one of a kind and there will be no replacing you. You and Gwen have blessed our lives. You are free to fly as high as your gifts will take you now. You have been a gift to every listener and you are loved. It will be fun to see what's ahead for you. I have learned what loyal friendship is from you. I know you will be fine but it still hurts.

  • Rob Carey ok.......why
  •

  • Steve Kelley That is the fairest question Rob and I am asking our management to provide you with a direct response. I am simply to close to the forest to see the trees
  •

  • Rob Carey understand.
  •

  • Paul Gilleland Well that sucks, Bill seemed like a great guy who said exactly what he thought.
  •

  • Lisa Terford Andrews Always enjoyed Bills humor and perspective. Wishing all the best for him.

  •

  • Barbi Duggan Eggar This makes me VERY grumpy.
  •

  • Theresa Martens He will be greatly missed! What will he be doing?
  •

  • Suzanne Utter Andrews We will miss Bill:) Sad he was asked to leave.
  •

  • Tom Jensen am guessing "Company" was a financial decision... hey, it's radio...
  •

  • Peter Boddie Pundit Pete is sad.
  •

  • Tom Jensen suggested new title: 'Kelley and... you'
  •

  • David W Dirling Guess I'll go back to Rosen. Bill made that show
  •

  • Barbi Duggan Eggar Wow David. Kick a man while he's down.
  •

  • Sean Clark What? You and Bill have a good understanding of each other!
The time change slot now this? Starting not to like KNUS!
  •

  • David W Dirling Not trying to slam Steve, but am extremely upset they fired Bill.
  •

  • Sean Clark Steve Kelley what decision are you going to make? How about you protest and not work!
  •

  • Kieth Moreland Really bad way to start the morning. This has to be tough, for you, Steve.
  •

  • Phyllis Koenig So sorry to hear. You were a great team!
  •

  • Diane Avogardo Romano Bill was your memory Steve, I always wanted someone like that with me when I couldn't remember something. Gonna miss that guy, but I sure hope you stick around.
  •

  • Lindsey Antle Bummer. I liked hearing him. Will you get another sidekick?
  •

  • Francoise Bergan Very sad for you and the listeners. I enjoyed his humor and non PC style.
  •

  • Rob Schwartz Not a good move
  •

  • Larry Deputy Bill is an asset regardless of where he applies his talents. PC is overrated. Bill is under appreciated. KNUS can't be described without the word "cluster".
  •

  • Page Hatcher NO! Nonononononono! I want Bill back.
  •

  • Sharilyn Kal Not happy with KNUS!
  •

  • Jeanette Sagers Gregersen I don't like this move at all. Nope, not one bit
  •

  • Timothy Bjokne What? The chemistry between you two added so much to the show! Very, very disappointing. First they move you to a time slot where less people can listen and now get rid of a great personality on the show? What is going on at KNUS? The two of you were the talk radio equivalent of a Carson and McMahon.
  •

  • Pearl Fortaleza Rutherford Very disappointing.
  •

  • Kendal Casey Unruh Hmmmm....this is a marketing mistake. Wonder how long it will take for KNUS to get the memo? Did some of the things he said make me cringe? Of course, but it was countered by the times he made me lol hysterically. That was precisely his appeal and I told him so at the KNUS dam race.
  •

  • Phyllis Henderson First Bill Bennett, then Dennis Miller and now Bill Rogen. I LOVED Bill's sense of humor and his loyalty to his friends. I think KNUS is shooting themselves in the foot with all their changes. There are better things for Bill and I will follow him to his next station.
  •

  • Tina Ries We need to start a campaign to bring him back!!!!!
  •

  • Tom Ortolf What a bummer. Hope he lands on his feet. What a good guy...PC is not in his vocabulary:)
  •

  • Deanna Layton Damron No more KNUS for me... so sad... Bill is the best EVER!!
  •

  •
Tom Ortolf I am very confused and unhappy with the moves KNUS management has made in the past year...Bennet gone, Miller gone, Hannity gone, no Prager early on Saturday mornings and now breaking up a great afternoon team. Don't see the direction logic.
  •

  • Randy Mack Wren I will continue calling. It was always your show. Thank you for the time you spent with Bill Rogan. You made a Great Team. He seems like a Mighty Nice Guy. Fly High Steve Kelley! Your the Eagle!
  •

  • Bill Rogan Thank you so much everyone. I'm completely blown away by these comments. Steve, thanks for everything. Working with you has been one of the highlights of my career and being a friend has been one of the highlights of my life. Keep churing out great shows and maybe we'll get a chance to work again someday. And Chad Blake our producer...thanks for everything too. You are a pro and a friend.
Don't worry about BR people. Obama will take care of me!
Now I'm going out back to kill myself. (JUST KIDDING! JUST KIDDING! JUST KIDDING!)
  •

  • Kieth Moreland Your station dumps Dennis Miller, for the dry-as-freaking-unbuttered-toast Dan Capless, and now Bill Rogan is gone? Bad decision making at its finest.
  •

  • Joy Bowman Bye Bill. You will be missed. Steve can't be funny without you!
  •

  • Steve Coble Might as well take a little or a lot of BP, good for the soul! Good luck Bill.
  •

  • Jimmy Sengenberger I am sorely disappointed by this decision. There has been no one more fun to work with than Bill Rogan, and it has been an honor to work with you, my friend. Thanks for being a real mentor to me when I've needed one.
  •

  • Susan Finney Spancers I will miss you Bill, you were a great addition to Steve's show, I loved your humor and you said things only the rest of us think about and never say, you will land on your feet. Steve will continue on just fine, life goes on. To address some of the comments above, Dennis Miller will not be missed, great comedian, not so great talk show host. Dan Caplis (sp) is one of the most intelligent people on the radio and a great radio host. Change is inevitable, KNUS gets some things correct and others not so good.
  •

  • Arthur Carlson Bill will be surely missed by all his friends and fans.
  •

  • Andrea Gancarz Gillen Love you,Bill. You always made me laugh and think. You will be missed.
  •

  • Matt Arnold What!?! Why is Bill leaving the show?
  •

  • Matt Arnold Extremely questionable decisionmaking by KNUS -
recent programming decisions have made 710 almost "unlistenable"
  •

  • William Rankine I guess I'll be listening to Mike Rosen on KOA from 1 to 3 now. What a stupid decision to get rid of Bill. I can't believe it.
  •

  • Bill Rogan I am humbled by these comments. Thank you for your support. For those wondering how Steve will do without me, he'll be fine. I hope he misses me a little bit but he's a pro and will carry on once he stops crying over my axing! I hope you continue to listen to Steve each day.
  •

  • Rob Carey well, if youve worked for a living in your lifetime, weve all been there. best of luck bill on the future.
  •

  • Bernie Smith Bill, you were a perfect younger grumpy Gus (as in the late great Gus Mircos). Definitely will miss you on the air with Steve. Look forward to what lies ahead. With your talent you will definitely land in a great place.
  •

    ********************************************************************************************************************

I have always believed Bill Rogan to be the most unappreciated and unrecognized talent at KNUS. And that is the case even after he joined the extremely well-known and talented Steve Kelley. Bill added an unexpected (to many) dimension to Kelley and Company, but as a longtime friend of Bill's, it wasn't unexpected as far as I'm concerned. Think over any public event featuring Kelley and Company and... you'll remember there was always a large crowd of people wanting to meet Rogan.Steve was and is the headliner, and has earned his due as the massively popular Rock Jock at KIMN in his Top 40 days, and the highly rated host during his KOA days, and the accomplished and attractive anchor during his Fox 31 days, but Bill's outspoken candor and borderline bad boy talk made him a star in his own right all the while blending beautifully with Steve Kelley's accomplishments without a whiff of internal competition. I was taken aside last night just before a dinner to honor Peter Boyles and was told that my friend Rogan had been fired that day. So I can say, still, Bill Rogan is the most underrated and unappreciated talent at KNUS. And if you've read his post on Facebook telling of his dismissal, it is now known that he also has a lot of class!

Pam Moller Wilson Well, that's not good news.

Bill Rogan Wow Tom. I'm speechless. Kinda. Thank you for being such a great friend. I've learned so much over the years from you and I appreciate everything you've done for me. And think of me every time the Irish win, especially over the Spartans.

Best wishes and fond regards to my good friend - and the one radio host I can truly call a mentor - Bill Rogan, who is departing KNUS after 13 years. Good luck, my friend. You were phenomenal to work with and so much fun to listen to. I hope to continue our friendship and will always look to you as a real mentor in the industry.

    ****************************************************************************************************************************************

Screw KNUS. They lost me as a listener. They obviously cannot recognize talent. My radio settings just deleted 710. They fire Bill Bill Rogan, I fire them.feeling pissed.
    •
    • Bill Rogan Duane, thanks for your support. But I would say to you or anybody, don't stop listening to KNUS if you like the programming just because I'm not there. If you like KNUS, listen to them. (But a one day boycott would be cool!)
    • Duane Menor I'll get my shows (Prager, Levin and Hewitt) through their podcasts.

He is a true on air talent and DIE HARD Yankee fan... not just some shock jock who spews garbage.. Bigger and better await you Bill.....
