"Olympic Affair"

This is one of the most enjoyable books I've read in a long time. "Olympic Affair...A Novel of Hitler's Siren and America's Hero" takes the reader on a journey of historical fiction. Author Terry Frei's exhaustive research of the facts, mixed in with plausible fiction make this a compelling read. The story is based upon the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany and revolves around American decathlete Glenn Morris and German propaganda film maker Leni Riefenstahl and their dalliances during the games. The book has intrigue, suspense, drama and all the elements that make a great story and in this case book. I said to the author when he appeared on our radio program, "this book would make a tremendous movie." I'm hoping that some filmmaker decides to do so. If Riefenstahl was still alive I'd like to see how she would handle such a project. Anyway, exemplary work by Frei...not that I'm surprised.
