Living On The Black

Finally, John Feinstein has put out another baseball book and "Living On The Black: Two Pitchers, Two Teams, One Season to Remember" was well worth the wait. It chronicles the careers and specifically the 2007 season of veteran pitchers Mike Mussina and Tom Glavine. What goes through the mind of a major league pitcher? What do they do between starts? Great stories and inside information that only a guy like Feinstein seems to deliver on a regular basis regardless of the sport. This book was terrific from the first word in the introduction (The) to the last word of the epilogue (yet). More than 500 pages, the book never drags or becomes dull. There are some nice color pictures included but I wouldn't have minded a few more pics. Feinstein has outdone himself once again. Hopefully it won't take JF another 15 years to write a baseball book.
